Gayle Weisfield, accomplished artist, talented instructor, world traveler, and passionate student of life is best known for her work as a realistic landscape painter. Her subjects range from the natural scenery of the Columbia River Gorge, in which she was born and now resides, to the architectural beauty found in Thailand, Rome, and beyond. Working primarily in transparent watercolor, Gayle uses a fresh, direct, wet in wet technique with strong design and bold value patterns.

An avid believer that everyone is an artist, Gayle is enthusiastic about and committed to teaching workshops for all skill levels. She has taught hundreds of students over the last thirty years, developing successful methods for unleashing creativity. Recent workshops have taken Gayle to Hawaii, Mexico, Guatemala and all over the western United States. Although best known for her watercolor work, Gayle is fluent in many artistic mediums. From murals to three dimensional sculpture, Gayle allows her subject matter to inspire and dictate her choice of medium and technique. Also a talented designer, Gayle has carried her artistic abilities into restoring and decorating restaurants and theaters, designing menus, and creating the Boga Board for watercolor stretching.

Gayle attended the University of Washington, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She is a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society and a charter member of the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society. She is featured in galleries and shows throughout Washington, Oregon, and California. Viewing watercolor technique as a lifelong journey and adventure, Gayle strives to attend as many workshops as she teaches. She continues her learning with some of the top watercolor artists in the country.
